Auditorio de Tenerife Pano, 2007, Spain. Santiago Calatrava.
This auditorium was Calatrava's firstmusic venue, designed to serve the city of Santa Cruz as a concert hall for opera and theatre. The abstract design reflects the site. Tenerife is located on the small Canary Islands whereby beachlife is as much culture as anything. Thus, the giant overhanging wave is ideally located to capture the spirit and culture of the city as an iconic landmark.

This image was captured in Barcelona last year. The looming structure supports a massive bank of solar panels. Atop a hill the structure seems to vanish toward the horizion, its irregular composition giving it a very non-intrusive feel and the surrounded areas a free flowing nature that allows for public thoroughfare.

Growth, Life, Rebirth.

This figurative sculpture aims to encapsulate a stage in the growth process of bulbs and other natural forms. As one of 4 sculptures this work illustrated the transient nature of the living form in my HSC major work. The transperancy and use of copper wire and gauze allowed for corrosion, all of these materal practices were intended to break the barriers between the artform and its environment, allowing for a meaningful installation which outlined the constant source of life which water provides, its very presence adapting the visual experience of the work.
